Sol N. Mora, M.D., graduated from the SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn in 1977. He then trained under Dr. Roger W. Kula in Neurology at Kings County Hospital, where he was appointed Chief Resident in Neurology in 1980. After his residency, he did a research fellowship in cerebral metabolism at New York Hospital in the laboratory of Dr. Fred Plum. He established a brain tumor research laboratory at the Long Island College Hospital in 1984.
Dr. Mora has known Dr. Milhorat since 1996. As Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs and Medical Director of the Long Island College Hospital, he worked with Dr. Milhorat to establish the Chiari program there. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at the SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn.
As a clinical neurologist, Dr. Mora has over 25 years of experience in direct patient care. His focus has been on neuromuscular diseases, electromyography, headache and degenerative diseases. He is also a founding member of the Hofstra University Health Policy Center, where his research focuses on improving clinical care through the application of clinical information systems.
